Belfast Harlequins

 

 

Established in 1999 through the merger of North of Ireland RFC and Collegians RFC, Belfast Harlequins is a multi-sports Club in South Belfast which facilitates men’s, women’s, youth and mini rugby, men’s and ladies’ hockey and lawn bowls.

 

Furthermore, Belfast Harlequins have ground usage agreements in place with St Brigid’s GAC and Belfast Trojans American Football Team and five time Irish Shamrock Bowl Champions! Belfast Harlequins is also contractually the appointed venue for the annual IRFU Tag Rugby tournament which runs twice a week for a period of 9 weeks from May to July and this year attracted c. 700 mixed adult players in 70 teams representing corporate entities and groups from across the community. The Club has been used for senior and youth representative games, both men’s and women’s, as well as some School’s Cup fixtures. 

Belfast Harlequins Men’s 1st XV compete in the Ulster Senior League and All Ireland League 2b involving Senior rugby clubs from around the Province and Ireland with the local derbies always drawing large crowds of a varying demographic which appeal to many businesses. There are also 3 other adult men’s rugby sides, a women’s rugby side, boys’ and girls’ youth rugby and a vibrant Mini Rugby section.

 

Belfast Harlequins is a club which draws members from all sections of the community and whose aims are to attract and develop rugby players of all standards, both male and female, to optimise their abilities in the sport.
