Belfast Harlequins Men’s Hockey Section currently has three teams participating in the Ulster Hockey leagues, as well as running a junior section for 9 – 15 year olds.

The First XI presently competes in the Ulster Senior League 1 , the Second XI in Junior League 3 and the Third XI in Junior League 5.

The Hockey Section, since its inception as Collegians MHC in 1967 has always benefitted from a close tie to Methodist College Belfast and now attracts players from other schools across the Greater Belfast area, with the result that all three sides boast a broad range of youth and experience.

Players of the Club have represented Ulster at Schools, Junior, Under 21 and Senior level, Ireland at Schools and Under 21 level and more recently at Master’s Interprovincial and International level. Past players of note include BBC Radio’s football commentator, Alan Green, who has the dubious distinction of being the first member to be sent off in a competitive match!

On the administrative side Peter Wood has worn the Presidential chain of office for the Ulster Men’s Hockey Union, whilst Iain Kelly is currently Chair of the UHU Competitions Committee and Peter Kelly is Vice Chair of the UHU.

Belfast Harlequins can proudly boast of its history and the facilities the Club can offer. Coaching is provided at all levels.
